Meet 3rd Wave's CEO/Owner, Mike Conwell
Mike founded 3rd Wave Consulting Services in 2000 with the primary focus to provide management consulting services, helping companies become more efficient and capitalize on technology. With decades of experience Mike has developed a proven, practical and repeatable process to help companies start major initiatives or get them back on track.
Prior to starting 3rd Wave, Mike worked for KPMG as part of the Knowledge Management organization of the Washington National Tax Office. He was responsible for directing the collaboration and sharing of critical content for more than 5,000 tax professionals across the country.
While in this position he also lead Process Reengineering, Knowledge Management, Technology Planning and Collaboration Consulting. Mike also educated thousands of professionals to efficiently and effectively leverage these tools to improve their abilities. He was commended for his contributions many times while at KPMG.
During his tenure at KPMG, Mike was an active member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and was their expert pertaining to Knowledge and Content Management Systems. He also presented at several conferences for Intranet Week and Content Week, as well as sitting on the Gerson Lehrman Groups council.
Prior to joining KPMG, Mike was the Business Unit Manager for Netplex, a technology consulting company. Mike had full P&L responsibility for the Mid-Atlantic Integration Division. He held several key positions while at Netplex including Technology Consultant, Operation Manager and Business Unit Manager. While reporting directly to the COO Mike contributed to setting company strategy and direction.
Mike earned his MBA as well as a Marketing Degree from Marymount University.
His professional certifications include the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute and a 6 Sigma Black Belt Certification.
